Our Background
Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLB Islamic) was officially launched in July 2005 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of HLB. There are currently three full-fledged Islamic branches together with a shared network of HLB. Branches and over 1,100 self-serve terminals across the nation. This gives customers easy access to the years of experience and a wide range of Shariah compliant products and services. Both HLB Islamic and HLB form an integral part of the larger Hong Leong Financial Group.
Year 2011
Our Humble Beginnings
Just six years after its launch, HLB Islamic completed the merger with EONCap Islamic Bank Berhad. This was part of the larger merger between HLB and Eon Bank Berhad. This was the first merger between two Islamic Banks in Malaysia. A milestone which gave HLB Islamic a strong foundation for progress and growth in the highly competitive Islamic Banking industry.
